Shintora Street is the main street that connect the main stadium to the athletes' village in Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics 2020. TABISURU Shintora Market will bring various Japan contents and experiences in this street. The market's conept changes every 3 months and winter version has just started. Place: Mori Art Museum
An Argentinian contemporary artist of global repute, Leandro Erlich is perhaps best known in Japan as the creator of The Swimming Pool, a permanent installation at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. The exhibition will be the largest-ever exhibition devoted to the work of this fascinating artist. Of the approximately 40 works on display produced from 1995 to 2017, 80 percent will be making their Japanese debut.

Ukiyo-e from the end of the Edo Period to the Meiji Period

Place: OTA Memorial Museum of Art(1-10-10 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku)
Ukiyo-e artists who were active from the end of the Edo Period to the early Meiji Period portrayed social changes such as the Boshin War and westernization, and explored new forms of art by accepting Western styles. The museum will indtroduce 150 pieces of ukiyo-e produced in that age.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs has organized the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists since 1967 to help young artists who will support the future of Japan's art world. The "DOMANI: The Art of Tomorrow" exhibition marks its 20th anniversary in 2018. 11 fresh artists will exhibit their works: Yosuke Amemiya, Naoya Inose, Makiko Tanaka, Michiko Nakatani, Yuta Nakamura, Yoshinari Nishino, Kae Masuda, mamoru, Saori Miyake, Keita Mori and YANG02.

Kumagai Morikazu is widely recognized for a style that is distinguished by bright colors and distinct forms. His later works, depicting familiar living things like flowers, insects, and birds, are especially loved by people of all ages. This retrospective sheds light on the artist's creative process with more than 200 paintings, sketches, diaries, and documents.

Minakata Kumagusu: An informant-savant a 100 years ahead of his time

Place: National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo(7-20 Ueno Park, Taito-ku)
Minakata Kumagusu is a researcher of all nature and natural history who was active during Meiji to Showa period. The exhibition will be held to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary. His gifted ability to learn language helped him to research bacteria, moss, insects and small animals in abroad. After he came back to Japan, he made an outstanding achievement to develop natural history in Japan.

Ninnaji, which is famed for its Omuro cherry trees, is a Shingon Esoteric Buddhist temple. The approximately 790 temples in Japan affiliated with the Omuro branch, of which Ninnaji is the head temple, have numerous exceptional Buddhas of their own. This exhibition presents an historic opportunity to view a number of "hidden Buddhas" normally inaccessible to the public.

In March 2018 the Tower of the Sun will finally be reborn after a longtime-neglected because of the problem of earthquake-resistant strength. It has been renovated and transformed into a permanent exhibition space. This exhibition will trace the fifty-year history of the tower, from 1967, when Tarō Okamoto participated as producer of Osaka's Expo 1970, until 2018 when the interior was recreated, and consider his intentions in creating the Theme Pavilion/Tower of the Sun. Highlight will be miniature three-dimensional model of the Theme Pavilion.

Tapa and felt are early cloths made by hand employing commonly available plants or wool. Tapa and felt, it is believed, were used long before the technology for weaving was developed. This exhibition looks at the tapa and felt used in daily life since ancient times in the South Pacific islands and regions of Southeast Asia, and shows the attractiveness of tapa and felt as simple, strong non-woven cloths.

Lidded containers for incense called kōgō are one of the most popular utensils used at tea gatherings. These containers were made from a wide range of materials, from lacquer to ceramics, and their shapes were also richly varied. This exhibition features approximately 170 incense containers that show how their world blossomed.

In addition to extravagant dresses hand-colored prints that depict the and fashions of the period, viewers can look forward to Renoir's woman in exotic costume, Manet's portrait of a dignified singer on a street corner, and work by Mary Cassatt, an American artist who made a name for herself in Paris.

The Brueghels, one of 16th and 17th century Europe's most influential painting dynasties. Its patriarch, Pieter Bruegel the Elder's keen powers of observation were passed down to his sons, grandsons, and great grandsons. Through some 100 valuable works, principally from private collections, this ambitious exhibition provides an overall picture of the Brueghel dynasty and the world of 16th and 17th century world of Flemish painting.

Odilin Redon, while being one of the generation of Impressionist painters, turned his imagination to a fantastical inner world. This exhibition focuses on his artistic imagery around plants, making it an unprecedented display. It will be a valuable opportunity to encounter the 15 murals that graced the walls of the dining hall in the castle of Baron Robert de Domecy. Especially, "Grand Bouquet", one of the largest pastel works of art he ever painted, will be the most important piece in this exhibition.

Shinpei Kusanagi “Anywhere Out of the World”

A solo exhibition of works by Shinpei Kusanagi which will be his forth exhibition with the gallery and it will feature new paintings. In the past, Kusanagi produced landscape paintings by staining untreated canvases with layers of translucent colors. In recent years, he has continued to use staining as his principal method, while incorporating dynamic and improvisational brushstrokes to apply vivid colors resulting in striking abstract paintings.
