Shintora Street is the main street that connect the main stadium to the athletes' village in Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics 2020. TABISURU Market's Summer and Autumn term starts July 3rd. Recent decades have seen a stream of catastrophes around the world - from 9.11 in 2001 to the global financial crisis of 2008, Japan's devastating quake and tsunami in 2011, and the list goes on. Catastrophe and crisis can drive us to despair, yet it is also true that the energy released as we try to recover can simultaneously spark imagination, and boost creative output. This exhibition will look at how art deals with the major catastrophes that strike communities, as well as personal tragedies, and the role art can play in our recovery.

Ark hills and Suntory Hall will hold annual music event "Ark Hills Music Week 2018". This year's biggest event will be the special concert "ARK Classics". Welcoming gifted blind pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii and the youngest ever winner of the Joseph Joachim Hannover International Violin Competition (2009) Fumiaki Miura as an artistic leader, 9 concert programs will be on stage. There is also a lot of free music event that you can enjoy during lunch time on weekday.

Foujita: A Retrospective Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of his Death

The painter Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita was born in Japan in the middle of the Meiji period, but subsequently became a prominent member of the École de Paris, the group of emigré artists who made their home in Paris in the first part of the 20th century. This exhibition provides a major retrospective of Foujita's entire artistic career through a chronological display of major works including landscapes, portraits, nudes, and religious themes on the 50th anniversary of his death.

Sweden-Japan 150th Anniversary Ingegerd Råman

Place: The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Crafts Gallery(1-1 Kitanomaru-koen, Chiyoda-ku)
Ingegerd Råman is one of Sweden's most renowned designers as well as a potter. This exhibition is the first major opportunity in Japan to introduce Råman's diverse activities including her recent project with Kimura Glass to designs for Ikea to collaboration projects with Swedish architects with about 180 works of tableware and interior goods selected by Råman, who regard herself as a "form-giver".

Place: Heiseikan, Tokyo National Museum(13-9 Ueno-park, Taito-ku)
Daiho'onji in Kyoto is an ancient temple more commonly known as Senbon Shakado. It was founded by the Buddhist monk, Giku, in the Kamakura period in 1220. This exhibition introduces numerous masterpieces of the Keiha school preserved at Daiho'onji temple. With works by Kaikei, who was a contemporary of Unkei, and master sculptors of the post-Unkei generation, the exhibition allows visitors to enjoy a contest between Kamakura-period sculptures.

This exhibiiton explores the meaning of Japanese art and the aesthetic values it embodies. It also proposes new ways of appreciating the beauty of Japanese art before modern eras, which was created within a society very different from that of the West, by contrasting it with the achievements of the French-American artist Marcel Duchamp, who challenged the values of Western art much later.

Zen Priest Sengai is known for his Zen paintings, full of humor. It is to be noted that most of the works were painted after reaching sixty years of age. As a center for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, Kyoto's Daigoji temple has long been a setting for historic events. In this exhibition, the museum explores Daigoji's transformations from the Heian period down to modern times, using rarely shown historical Buddha statue, temple's archive of ancient documents and sacred writings as National Treasures.

During the Middle Ages, Buddhist monks from Japan and China crossed the seas on merchant vessels and built close relationships with each other. They appreciated and critiqued paintings and added poetic inscriptions to them, giving rise to magnificent works combining poetry and painting. This exhibition introduces a variety of writings and ink paintings born of the exchanges cultivated by Zen monks.

Based in Kyoto, Yokoyama Kazan was a popular painter at the turn of the 19th century. He was proficient in a wide range of painting styles, and he garnered popularity with his free use of painting styles, confined neither to a particular style nor to the trends of the time. With a total of around 100 pieces, including works by Soga Shôhaku and Kazan's own pupils, the exhibition shows a full view of Kazan's career.

Lee Kit creates works that constantly explore the expressive potential of painting. These include a series of hand-painted cloth paintings that he created early in his career. For each of his exhibitions held till now, he has quietly insinuated himself into the atmosphere and feeling of the city and place where it is held to create works that are extremely site-specific and that resonate with the people who see them. This is the first exhibition to be held at a Japanese museum.

Pierre Bonnard was an artist who worked in France from the late 19th to the mid-20th century. While a member of the Nabis, he was influenced by ukiyo-e to create lively and decorative works that earned him the nickname "The very japonard Nabi ." This large-scale Bonnard retrospective exhibition is composed of works from collections in Japan and abroad, most notably the extensive Bonnard collection of the Musée d’Orsay. Through works from many genres―paintings, sketches, prints, and photographs―the show explores the charm of the enigmatic Pierre Bonnard.

This exhibition looks at the bento from the communication design angle, providing a setting in which people can experience and discover for themselves the appeal of this Japanese food culture that brings people together. Exhibits range from bento boxes with unique designs dating from the Edo period, to video works, installations, and participatory artworks by contemporary artists.

Within the music, familiar to our everyday life, is a combination of elements; layers of tone, sonic range and rhythm form a densely designed structure - an architecture. Musician Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius) has written a new music with a focus on its structure exclusivery for this exhibition; it is interpreted from the varying perspectives of spirited creators into disparate video works. Come and discover a fresh perspective on music in the venue integrating sound, video and space.
